Can't wait for Marco to come out with mild TM for the 4.4. That's going to be sweet.

MikeyB, You don't think the 4.4 is pretty mild? I love it compared to the 4.3. It really shines w/ my new tranny!

Sid, I had the tranny shifting issue and I'm embarrased to say it was ALL in my old tranny. My new Suncoast has NO shifting issues at all w/ the 4.4 beta. My 1-2 and 2-1 shifts were really bad and inconsistant before. Come to find out my forward clutches were smoked.

Well, the 4.4 is somewhere between moderate and wicked. I couldn't get through the gears smoothly (manual tranny). When I let off the clutch and get back into the throttle the truck lurched badly at every shift. Wife was really complaining about it. With mild TM I can shift very smoothly.

Only trick I found was to slip the clutch during the shifting, which I don't like.

tcr,

Bob just sent me beta 4.4, so we'll see how my Suncoast likes it. I just had a triple disc TC, VB and a few other odds and ends installed. My tranny guy said everything looked great in my tranny. My tranny guy did tell Suncoast I was running the Smarty and they installed heavier springs in my VB. So, with 4.4 and my upgrades we'll see how she likes it. With the previous Smarty program, 310B208A, even with the Suncoast set-up, I was still getting erratic 1-2 shifting. I’m uploading 4.4 right now and I’m crossing my fingers.

I just received some dyno numbers and the software levels are higher than anticipated.

PLEASE DO NOT RUN THE BETA SOFTWARES ON STOCK TRUCK OR FOR ANY TOWING SITUATION.

Please go back to a published software.

Thanks

Bob, does this mean we are not supposed to run the beta 4.4 for towing? I thought this was a towing program? Maybe I misunderstood your post please clarify.

Maybe it's only an altitude problem? And what do you mean by stock trucks Bob? I never see over 1250 degrees in a full 1/4 mile pass, making over 45 psi with my Silver 62, even now that I'm back to a 4" full exhaust. Is the only problem towing with 4.4 the EGT issue? I only two a 3500 lb trailer at the moment, which barely affects EGTs, so I doubt it's a concern for me. Any way to shed some more light on this Bob?

Have you guys stacked any pressure w/ the 4.4 yet? And by the way level 1 on the Beta 4.4 is no where near 30hp, more like 80-100hp

stacking pressure with the beta 4.3+4 is probably not a good idea, since the later beta's add a small amount of pressure. but bob would know best.
