HELP!-quad box vs Diablo Programmer

I'm lost!
I got off the phone with DDP (Dynomite Diesel Performance) here in the Seattle area and they are telling me to replace my 65hp quad xzt box becuase it adds pressure, and to replace it with a Diablo Predator and just run the 100hp setting.
Am I hurting my engine with my XZT box? Is this programmer better?
100hp on lightly mod'd stock truck(see sig)

The XZT programming works just fine. Sounds like the shop is trying to take you for a ride.

I would steer clear of the Daiblo due to the fact there is ZERO customer support. If you are wanting more horsepower, there is a Quad X2 Race in the classifieds.

another thought they had was keeping my XZT (I was saying I like it) and adding a fuel pump and 50hp injectors and be done.
What is this going to do to my tranny among other things? with my mods could I do this and be safe?

By the way, the Diablo is a downloader which is a completely different animal.

yea, I know, they were telling me it is a better animal that won't hurt my engine were a pressure box (like XZT ) will.

Sounds to me that they are wanting you to take out your stock tranny. You should not go over that 65 or so hp to be safe on it.

Smarty is an even better animal IMO. The Diablo can hurt your truck in other ways, such as tranny/clutch slippage, egts, etc. Upgrading the quad would be better....

Have not heard anything good about the Diablo. Like everyone else said, Quad or Smarty if you want a downloader.

I have a Diablo and while it is not necessarily a bad product - it definately isn't the best. If you really want one you could PM me though

What are you wanting to accomplish? Do you just want more power?

I doubt anything is wrong with running your quad box. I don't quite understand why they said you need a fuel pump with 50 Hp sticks and not with the Diablo as well. IMO if your careful you could get away without the pump with either option although it would be beneficial to upgrade it though. The 100hp diablo tune fuels pretty hard - 50hp sticks wouldn't be any more fuel. I'm not quite understanding what they are trying to sell you. The tranny is a whole nother can o worms. Just my $.02 BUYER BEWARE

If my Diablosport didn't wipe out the key counts everytime I changed the tune then I would still be running it. I really liked the Quad boxes but my truck did not. Nothing bad on Quad because the last box I had works fine on the truck of the guy who bought it. My truck just did not like them upon startup. Once I started driving they were great.
I'm like everyone else here though. I don't understand the logic behind what they were telling you unless you were telling them you wanted more power and they were just throwing some options out there.........
