HELP New Turbo Waste Gate?
HELP New Turbo Waste Gate?
OK the trucks stock turbo has an electronically controlled waste gate, I'm in the process of installing a II Thunder 330 and it does not have the electronically controlled waste gate, what do I do so I dont throw codes. Do I leave the solenoid hooked up and wrapped up under the truck or is there something else.
Talked to II today, they said either buy the solenoid fooler plug they offer or unscrew the solenoid from the waste gate, wrap it up, and leave it plugged in hidden somewhere. I would imagine this would apply to anyone replacing a turbo on these trucks with the electronic controlled waste gate.
You can buy the plug or make your own using a 100 ohm 1/4 watt resistor, or you can attach your old wastegate like they told you. I got the plug with my new turbo, whoever sold you the turbo should have included the plug. You may still need to get a boost fooler if you don't have a tuner that boost fools.
