Question Turbo Waste Gate

Has anybody ever adjusted there waste gate linkage to gain more boost, Looking for on this I don't wan"t to buy a boost elbow if I don't have to.!

The strength of the spring inside the air motor canister is what determines the pressure at which the air motor begins to open the wastegate, and you can increase the pressure slightly by changing the rod length, but not enough to do what you want with any predictability.

You are just next door to Piers Diesel Research, over on 94th right there in Surrey. Just drop by and talk him out of an elbow for a few bucks, you will not regret the decision.

For that matter, if you have lots of time, the elbow is nothing more than an elbow with a bleed-off port and a brass screw that adjusts the bleed rate to reduce the air pressure to the wastegate air motor. It would only take a couple of days to screw around until you found the bleed rate you want. Although that does make the boost elbow pretty economical, after all.

Waste gate.

A boost elbow it is! I have to go and see piers for starter conracts anyway's Thanks for the reply!
