Help with Front End

Can anybody tell me what I need to be looking at on the front end of these? Truck is an 07 mega cab. Supposedly has a Rancho Lift. No idea on size of lift. Truck is running 37s. I've attached some photos the owner sent me. Looks pretty rusty. I've never owned a 3rd gen 2500 diesel. Only messed with the 1st gen w250s and gassers. Please help with anything I need to know.

It all looks stock to me except the contol arms in the last picture , and on the second picture I see some tubular piece on top of the shock tower...Not sure what that is ,may be something to do with the lift. I would ask the owner when he had the lift put on, if he had the pitman arm changed. There is a different pitman arm for lifted trucks (lowers the angle of the steering rod).

Guy who owns it is second owner. Lift was put on before him. Ne knows nothing about it other than the shock absorbers are rancho. I'm a little guy shy on this one because of how rusty the truck is on the front end. Don't see any new parts and I know these trucks can eat some front ends.

I did find another one. 06. Looks like its had some front end work done. Still has the old Y style steering linkage but appears to have a steering box stabilizer bracket, dual steering stabilizers and bilsteins. It does however have the cheapest lift possible on it. 4" tuff county coil spacer. U joints and wheel bearing recently replaced.

The 2006 does look cleaner and alot less rust.

Ball Joints need to be checked, also listen during turns for the front axle u joints and Hub assemblies

AS Motrapper stated, ball joints and u joints, and hub assemblies would be my first concern. That can be check very easy with a floor jack and pry bar. I know this does not mean he has had front end problems, but to me when I see dual styablizers on a dodge it tells me he has either had the death wobble or bump steer, but that may not be the case. I agree the 06 does look cleaner. Good luck, keep us posted.
