help ASAP

Going to look at a 2006 5.9 mega cab truck it looks real nice but it has a k&N intake whitch is fine and 90hp dynamite injectors, I dont know anything about the injctors. Are they as reliable as stock are they going to hurt my fuel milage in normal day to day driving? looking late tonight or in the morning and need some info before I make a deal. Thanks

Not sure about the injectors but for some reason the 06 doesn't seem to like more than 50hp injectors unless you have more supporting mods.

The K&N is not a big deal but I would throw it as far as I could! (If it has the filter that is)

Does it have or has it had any chips or programmers on it?
How many miles?
Auto or 6 speed?
4x2 or 4x4

I'd worry more about the K&N than the injectors.....

They hold back the big debris, but allow more air AND dust into the intake horn. The k&n are NOT good for these trucks.

If it has all those things installed on it, especially the big CP3,I'd more than a little concerned about the reliability of the truck. I would also be concerned with how hot the exhaust has been. Go over it with a fine toothed comb.

Be sure to check it for blowby. If it has enough to blow off the oil fill cap when placed on the hole upside down. Walk away and do not look back.

my concern would also be the transmission with all those mods and stacked programmers what kind of transmission is there and what has it been through?

and a K&N...

Uhm, I'd be thinking this truck was rode hard. Without knowing the previous owner but my worse case scenario thinking its some knuckle head kid who liked smoke and a heavy right foot.

You better know what you're looking for or you might be in for surprises.

If it were me, I'd pass and keep looking. Usually the reliable trucks are the ones that haven't been modified. Granted, look at all of us here here who add things... My point is, unless you know the owner you could get a beat up truck. Let's just consider his/her choice in air filters. K&N....really? With all the info out there and they still pick a K&N.

Pull off the tube from the airbox to the turbo. Run your fingers inside and see if there's dust in there.

I agree with Shorts. This combination of mods makes me think that the truck is owned by some knucklehead kid. The transmission would also be a big concern in this case.
