Help
As i was driving to school i noticed a odd sound coming from under the hood, when i got to school i popped the hood to have a look and i see the FAN ISNT SPINNING , I shut the truck off and inspect this, i see there is a cord near the bottom of the fan stopping it from spinning , I see the cord also runs to the middle of the fan and goes in there , I can spin the fan by hand but i see why its not spinning, it hits the cord and i can only turn it one way or the cord gets caught up in it..
My question is WHY is the cord hitting now? and what can i do right now to fix this?
I am at school till 9:00....
P.S. It is an electrical cord the cord goes under the plastic fan shroud under the truck..
I posted this in 911 but most of the guys looking there have older trucks?

it is not the heater cord, once i saw a cord in there i nearly said every swear in the book because i thought it got tangled in there..
This cord comes from the middle of the fan and goes down to the bottom on the shroud, there is a place where it is mounted to but it seems like too much slack got in the wire and the fan hit it..

The temps checked perfect as did my volt gauge?
Nick, the fan on these has an electronic controlled clutch. The wires going up to it tell it when to lock up. 90% of the time the fan just free-wheels in there with the clutch unlocked. When temps start to get hot it locks up to move more air, but that is not very often and when it does so, it is very loud.
Most likely when you found it, the clutch was unlocked and the wire was holding it still. The metal bracket that holds the wire is easy to bend and hopefully you can just bend it out of the way of the fan. I have had to adjust them slightly in the past after doing cam installs and such to keep them from rubbing.
After getting it out of the way it should be OK as long as the wires are not chaffed.
