Headlight Upgrade?

I'd like to get better headlights for my 2006 megacab. I see all kinds of replacement headlights in the magazines that look cool, but do they provide better lighting? Or are they cheap pieces of crap?

I see some guys just replace their bulbs with better ones and get better lighting...a lower cost solution. And some go xenon replacement...but then someone told me xenon replacement doesn't work well on later model dodge trucks?

Anyone with any experience?

I put in a set of Lumenux (sp?) HID bulbs. I think they are in BC. They are totally plug and play, and work great. If I recall they were about $240.

High Intensity Discharge lamps. They use a ballast to charge the xenon gas that is inside the bulb. E-bay has a lot of companies on there selling kits. I have had really good luck with one company on ebay that sells the Hi/lo kits for $58-$65 with free shipping. Their Bi-Xenon kits are $135 free shipping for '06+ and $99 for '05 and older. PM me you email addy if you want their info.

Hello,

I have about 5 friends that want to purchase HID kits like the two that I purchased. What is the name of your ebay store, so that I may refer them to your Store Front.

Thank You,

Jason Cade

Thanks for the tip Crash, although it looks like they're up to $120 for our application. But no good deed goes unpunished! So did you have to modify your truck in any way to install the kit? Is the installation fully and easily reversible to get through inspection? Do the bulbs move reliably if you got the Bi-Xenon kit? Thanks again!

The $120.00 is for a Bi-Xenon, the Hi/Lo is the price range I put up. These things are literally plug and play, For '06+ you have to use their supplied relay harness to keep the voltages correct so that you do not throw any "Lamp Out" indicators.

Well, this thread answered half my question... which is cool...but...

...what about aftermarket headlight assembly, the whole headlight, not just the bulbs? Are these assemblies cheap, China-made pieces of garbage or are there some that are of good quality?

What type of HeadLight assembly are you talking about? If you are refering on a projector type assembly, most are made outside of the US. They should all hold up pretty well, it just depends on what looks you like.
