Has any one installed a 2m or other ham in their 3rd gen with the centre consol? I’m trying to find a clean spot to mount a Yaesu 2800, doesn’t seem to be a lot of space for it…

 

I've been looking for a place to put my TM-733A and antenna and haven't found a good spot for either. I did have a door edge mount on the rear driver's door on my 2002 for the antenna, but that spot doesn't work with the new quad cab, nor does the front of the rear door due to the gasket. In the 2002, the radio with separation kit worked well hanging off of the dash bezel just left of the ash tray. I'm still scratching my head as to how to mount this in my new truck. If you figure out something good, let us know and I'll do the same.

Well I plan on putting the ant. on the roof using a BMF NMA magmount, running the coax through the rear cab brake light... as for the radio...I may just mount it on the dash with some Velcro for the time being, not very clean but I just can’t find anywhere else to put it where I have easy access….there’s just no room…
