Had some time with a DRB (watching the MP-8)

Well the other night I got my hands on a real good DRB (from the Dodge dealer) for an hour or so... here is what I found out...

my BHAF pulls in air that is about 20 degrees hotter than the outside temp.

My rail pressure (stock) will peak in the 28K range

My boost pressure was typically hitting 35 PSI at stock settings?? (didn't realize that it was that high stock).

The MP-8 (from 3/4 turn and up) fools the computer into thinking it is only recieving 11K at the rail so I guess it is really maxing out the PSI since the computer will never see anything more. And I am guessing it is fooling boost also, but I could never get anything other than a 35 PSI reading from stock to max setting (@WOT).

My TC lock up switch that I wired up with directions from someone here is not right, I am not getting a check engine light, but the DRB picked up a "low TC lock-up voltage" signal. So now I will have to figure out how to fix that little issue.

Just thought you guys would like some interesting tid bits...

So the mp-8 does not go above stock pressures, just reaches it at lower rpm.

Does the ez raise presures above stock psi or does it behave like an mp-8 to?

The DRB reads PSIA which includes the atmospheric pressure. Subtract 14.7 and you will get the boost number your truck thinks it is seeing.

My BHAF delivers air to the intake manifold with only a 10-20*F differential, as measured just before the grid heaters. I'm making a cowl induction hat for it in the shop this week, since the temperature differential from ambient should be much higher during extended periods of higher boost (I can hit 20*F differential while under 30psi boost for 20 seconds).

Not all codes will trigger a MIL.

P2789 ??

This DTC will set if the voltage detected by the ECM for the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Control circuit is different than the expected voltage.
