Had to put BETA 4.2 back in the box today....

Loaded up Beta 4.2 last night SW#1 for some fun on the streets....had not loaded it since new stix and turbo.

All I can say is HOLY S*&T!!!! This thing flat gets it!!!

The power was AWESOME!!! BUT it is not in anyway a daily driver tune. Fuels WAY to hard and barks the turbo something fierce!!! SUPER touchy throttle, and RP is a little too high for me daily driving....but will load if for the track or dyno anytime!!!

Personally I think it is much stronger than the TNT settings that I have ran in the past. Tonight I will load up TNT again and set it up for SW#7, TM-3, RP-3, TQ-3 and see how it compares, these settings I feel will closely match 4.2 but wont know until I drive it in the morning!!!

To best describe the two tunes....

TNT- is like driving a Aston Martin....lots of power but very refined at how it comes on. Very linear and smooth!

BETA 4.2- is like driving a Blown alcohol injected big block, just RAW kick you in the NUTS power. It is not smooth, or linear at all!!! Just pure unadulterated POWER from the bowels of SMARTY!!!

I love this programmer!!!!! Cant think of any reason why someone would not buy this!!!!

MARCO, you are a genius!!!!!

Geez Les,

nothing but easy power for you! You have the best diesel karma I've ever seen. Feel like blessin' my truck with your karma power?

BTW, why wouldn't you compare the beta 4.2 to SW9 on tnt?

I loaded SW#7 since 4.2 was "supposed" to be a 170hp+ tune and I figured SW#7 would be pretty close to 170hp, but i always reserve the right to change to #9 if I feel 7 isint up too the task!!!

JP, you were my goal when I started out!!! Now that we are close, you go out and sell everything in the quest for MORE!!! I am just doing what I can to try and stay in the game...but it sounds like you might just crush me down the road!!!

Thanks for the props, and yes I can bless your rig!!! "AMEN"

i have always liked the 4.2 as well. i have yet to get the same 1/8th mile times with the TNT as i did with the 4.2. i got close, but no cigar. however, i do feel that the TNT might be better for the 1/4 tho.

the 4.2 seems like it fuels really hard off the line but dies a little up top.

The BETAS were never intended to be 170hp or any rated hp tunes. ALso level 1 is a 150hp+ tune and levels 5-9 can be 200hp+ on some trucks. The 4.2 and 4.3 have been the strongest tunes even over the TNT or TNTR on alot of trucks including mine. ANd you are correct, MARCO is a genius and hopefully he will have the time soon to refine the TNT for all of us.

Would 4.2 or 4.3 give me the most power on the dyno. Reason for asking I am going one week from this sat.

I said, "supposed" to be because there was never a given number. It was "supposed" to be basewd upon the current 170hp tune avail at that time. I understand that they were never hard numbers just estamites!!

I would say yes if yours is an 04 and not an 04.5

2007 5.9, I wasn't trying to "correct" you, I was just trying to be more informative, no need for the "!!". I'm sorry man

I love all the betas, 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4, they all have the best power delivery on my truck and work the best with my MP-8. You can't really set a power rating on these programs because like the TNT, the betas are sensitive to mods too, the more the better. I find it perfect for my truck. Running 4.3 on sw5 and loving the extra middle power.

So the way I understand it 4.2 was a racing tune and 4.4 was for towing, what is 4.3 then. I have the 4.2.and 4.4 but have not had the time to install. I am hoping to get it done tomorrow and give feedback Saturday. Will try TNT, then 4.2 and report to you all. I am really liking my Revo sw9 tm3, tq3, rp3. I am going to try sw7 because I am reading alot about people getting better hp with sw7 over sw9.

4.3 is like the moderate in between both of them tune. Has more low end and mid range than 4.4 but less top end than 4.2. It is a good daily driver tune.

I've been using the 4.2 on my 07, and I'm afraid to try any newer tunes. It gets awesome mileage and flat out hauls the mail when you want to pass someone. It's fairly smoky and has some rattle at idle, but not enough to be a concern.

The 90hp SW5 4.2 on the 07 cooks my 06 truck with the Bullydog on 90hp "Extreme", especially at higher RPMs.
