H2 Wheels Again!
Sure! The problem would lie in if you had opened up the wheel centers with a hole saw like I did not being sure if they are exactly centered. Then the problem will be in getting them balanced. Mounting is not an issue at all.
If you're talking about leaving the tires on the wheels while it is machined -- yup. If you can find a lathe that it'll fit on. Hoot used a cnc machine instead and left them on. It worked fine. I removed my tires and had the wheels turned on a lathe. It worked great.
Like he said though, with a hole saw, it won't be perfectly centered which makes it difficult to balance tires.

Using a hole saw to open up the H2 wheels does NOT affect the balancing. The balancer uses a conical center support to hold and center the wheel on the machine. The wheels have a conical area that matches the balancer cone. The hole saw does not remove this centering taper on the wheels and the balancer does not hold the wheel on the inside of the new (opened up) hole. I recently had mine re-balanced after about 45,000 miles. No problems.
The hole saw method is an easy and quick way to open up the centers, but you should be familiar with using a Hole Hog drill. All you need is a clearance hole since these wheels are lug centered.

I agree that the wheels are centered by the lugs, but all of the tire balancing machines that I have seen used around here hold the wheel by the inside of the center hole. I guess it depends on the equipment the shop has.
