Ground strap to avoid static build-up?

Do any of you have experience with installing ground straps to keep static electricity from building up in the vehicle? I am tired of getting shocked every time I get out of my truck. What kind of material is best to use? (Long-wearing). I am fed up to the point of putting up with everyone telling me I have a loose wire dragging!

Had the same issue with my Chevy. It's the cloth seats and you sliding across it is where the static comes from. Static Guard spray on the seats works for several month before needing another application.
This time I went with leather...

Neat trick I learned on here years ago is to grab the door {metal of course } BEFORE your foot hits the ground . Works EVERY time ......... used to get zapped everytime I got out but no more !!!!

its actually funny. Whenevr I go to touch or kiss my gf in the truck, we get zapped so I say "wow, we clearly have spark in our relationship"
