Angry Got my Black Stacks In!!

Hello,
I just got my stacks in, and I am very unhappy. As soon as I pulled these stacks out of the box I discovered that they were scratched. I was upset, but I was even more upset when I found out how easy "the ceramic coating" comes off. I can literally scrape the stuff off with my fingernail like wax. After seeing how easy this stuff peels off, underneath was revealed crome. CROME!! YOU DO NOT PAINT ON CROME! This company claims they buy cold rolled raw steel from a place in Ohio northeast of Cleveland, and this guy lied these were not raw steel they are crome! I have waited since the 25th of November, and they lied and said I would have them in a week. This guy from the company said that he can send me a can of spray paint to touch them up. It will cost me more money that it is worth to ship them back to Magna, Utah from the east coast. Now I am pretty much stuck with these things, and I have no idea what to do, the crome underneath is ruined because they ran a orbital sander on them.

Any thoughts on what I can do? The guy's cell phone must never be on him because he never answers it or replies to my messages. He did answer my wife's phone and when he found out who it was he hung up on her. I think they should be held accountable and own up. I feel cheated, I'm angry and upset and I feel like a sucker. I can honestly say that I never once said anything inpolite or rude to them. I garrentee if someone other than I calls the guy will answer.
Thanks in advance.

wow that sucks, its kind of hard to do much to him since you are in two different states. if he has a "legitimate" business you could contact the better business bureau, but again i dont think that would do much. i would just tell people about his bad business practices whenever they ask you opinions on where to buy stacks or anything else he may sell.

as for the stacks, you may be able to take them and get them powder coated black. it may cost some money but at least they would be done right that time. i'm just not sure how high of temps the powder coating is good for but its an option.

i really hate to hear stuff like this, i just went through some horriable business stuff not too long ago and i just had to eat the cash that i spend because there was no way of getting it back.

Good luck with everything

No reason you can't send the stacks back and they pay the shipping UPS can come to your door with postage in hand.

I sent back two stack kits this winter. Couldn't believe the junk that was sent. I even went ahead before the stacks came and cut the hole in my box. I ended up getting a new turbo back system.

Call him back and leave a message that if can't take this back you will be forced to call the better business bureau. And post his information on the Internet to protect others.

How did you pay? Can't you refuse a charge on a credit card or cancel a check?

if you paid for the items via credit card - dispute the charges....result: the funds will get returned to the card and you may end up with FREE stacks.

And are you 100% sure that it is chrome under the paint and not just polished stainless steel? They look almost the same. It's possible that they just painted them when it was too cold out and that may be why the paint isn't sticking. Either way, they should be working with you if they like being in business. Bad words travel fast on these internet boards but so do good ones......

even if it is chrome or polished stainless, they were to be blasted before applying anything to them for it to stick. I have talked in depth with the local ceramic coater and anything that is polished needs to be sand blasted then coated for it to be applied correctly. either way he got boned

Would it appropriate to give the name of the company? I really want to give the name because I'm sure word of mouth goes a long way. I also don't want anyone else to get ripped off like I did. Further, I tried calling this guy and he still won't answer the phone. So my ??? is, "can I post the company name?".

To answer how I paid is with visa and I would have to wait 45 days for this transaction to be resolved. I'm so tired of waiting and I feel the best thing to do is eat this one and take them to get coated for $50 locally.

Thank you

i just read the rules again. this thread isnt a flame war or brand bashing so i see nothing in the rules that would prevent you from posting the company that sold you the stacks.

Do a yahoo search on "black denim stacks" and it's the first find. I'd be very careful dealing with them, I found out that they don't actually have a store they work on the side selling stacks and after market diesel parts at their home. BBB can't do anything to them because they are not listed as a legitimate business. If I had more money I would take them to court and sue the hec out of them on priciple. I'll try to send my pics.

These are some of the pics. Did I scrape some of the paint? Yes! IF you handle them the paint comes off. You can also see the crome underneith.

It says "102_0825.jpg:
The Dimension limits for this filetype are 1024 x 1024. We were unable to resize your file so you will need to do so manually and upload it again. Your file is currently 3648 x 2736." How do I fix this?

get a photobucket account and go from there. easy to do and you don't have the limit when uploading the pics onto DTR
