Good First Mod

Hey, I just got my first diesel truck two days ago. Its a 07 5.9l CTD. I am looking into a programmer, maybe exhaust or intake? I dunno what will do the best for me. I dont want to make huge power and tear stuff up just spunk it up a little and maybe better mileage.

Edge Juice/Attitude.

Cost: 700-800 Dollars, add 100 for install.

Why: its got 5 power levels, all adjustable at the touch of a button, and it also has a complete set of gauges and safety features to keep your transmission running. Look into it.

www.edgeproducts.com its the Edge Juice With Attitude Combo.

I second the previous post.
With gauges you can monitor how the different mods affect the performance.
On mine, I went with Amsoil dropin filter and MBRP muffler.
Other than that, the truck is stayin as it is.

Are any of the cheaper options like the edge EZ module worth looking into? If i plan an keeping it "tuned" down can i still possibly tear things up w/o the use of additional gauges? One more thing..should I wait to get some miles on the truck before i start adding power?

I downloaded with Superchips after 1700 miles on mine. I couldn't stand it any longer! Guages the next day. Then straight pipe, wheels, leveled....you get the idea. Personally, I wanted to wait a couple thousand miles just to see if anything faulty was installed at the factory that they may not warrenty because of the downloader.

Once you start you won't stop.. A mild box. I'd recommend quad zxt!! Excellent power don't really need guages but I personally would never own a diesel without them!! They are cheaper than most parts on these trucks! I would start with guages either ebay or dieselmanor.com then exhaust. Just cut your muffler out straight pipe it or get an aftermarket flow through muffler, 53 *****'s whistler intake and then poor the power to it!!!

Intake

I would highly recommend GAUGES, intake and then a good muffler delete.

Go with gauges first then you can see what the rest of the mods do for your performance. Quicker boost, lower egt's.
