Glacier MK-2 + Big Line Kit
Glacier MK-2 + Big Line Kit
I am in the market for a 2 micron fuel filter kit and I know that many guys are starting to run the GDP products now. I was looking on their site and came across the combo with the big-line kit. Will the big line kit help bring up fuel pressures when used in conjuction with a stock pump or will I need to install a new pump to see an increase in pressures? I have a Commander/Quad Race on the way and I'm sure the race module will probably drain the rail under WOT on one of the higher settings. I am wanting to swap over to either a FASS or GDP kit in the future, but not just yet if this will help me out for the time being.
You'll need another pump to bring the fuel pressure up. The stocker was only good for about 8lbs on mine. Also with the 2micron filter, I would probably want some more pressure just to get the fuel through the extra filtration. course, I ain't no in-ji-near.
The kit won't bring pressures up, you'll need a new pump to do that. But I don't think it will drop them much either. The bigger lines and fittings are less restrictive than than factory parts.
Hmmm.....
guess I'll just go ahead and get it anyways and then buy a GDP competition fuel kit in the "not-so-distant" future. Lol. That should help out my fuel supply issues. Is this the kit you guys would recommend or is there a better kit out there for the money? I don't think I want to do a "do it yourself" type thing. I'm fully capable of installing the kit myself, I just don't have the time to hunt down all the fittings. I would rather buy a kit and have it all right in front of me from the start....

PT..... don't you have a Commander? What fuel pressures do you read at idle and WOT? What power adders are you running? I think you were running the Quad Race and BDTD and one time if I am not mistaken.

Yep, I have the Commander and I'm running Quad's Std. Module (30-60-100 hp). I have removed the Bully Dog for the moment.
I do have the fuel pressure kit, but I only have the rail pressure portion installed. I haven't had the motivation to install the lift pump portion. But I'll get it done soon.....probably.
The Quad definately has more power down low. I can bark my 35's with the Quad on 100 hp. Can't do it with the Bully Dog on Extreme. Maybe on Crazy Larry, but I didn't try that program with my stock tranny.
Ran to get a diet coke for lunch and did a quick test run. I hammered it on the 100 h.p. setting for as long as I could (only 5 or 6 seconds) and my rail pressure peaked at 25,300 psi and dropped to about 23,500 when I let off. EGT's peaked at 1375* or so.
Are you talikng about the fuel boss kit? I was looking @ it earlier today. I've got mixed feelings about mechanical pumps. It sure looks to be a nice kit though! I'll probably go with the walbro comp series.....
