GLACIER DIESEL Pro-Flo Grid Heater Replacement Block

Has anyone put one of these on their truck? Is it a pointless mod or will it help airflow? For $80 I'm not expecting much, just wanting some feedback.

I installed one during the summer along with the glacier intake horn. I can say of all the time before I could hit 38 psi of boost (wastegate setting) steadily before installaton and now I get no higher than 35 psi. I am thinking that the grid was a restriction and now the motor breath better.

There is no different in the way that the truck runs.

Sounds like you might have a slight leak at the gaskets there. It shouldn't have any affect on max boost.

I also noticed no difference in the way the truck/engine runs. Like Kevin said though, it sure can't hurt. When you see how much of a restriction the heater grid causes you'll be amazed.

Do you think removing the heater will hurt warm up or anything during winter. I live in north GA so it's usually pretty mild. maybe a handful of 19* mornings.

Pulg it in.
I just built a custom 3" tube airhorn for mine which eliminated the grid heater and now I'm looking at removing the solenoids and wiring. Has any body had any problems with this on the CR setting codes?

I just left the wires hooked up,, I dont really start mine much in the winter anymore,, so I dont know about that,, I dont think it would be easy to put back together, I pretty much butchered mine to get it out....

Where you take your readings might explain why they are 3# lower. If you take your readings upstream from the old grid location, it may show the old grid was a restriction. If you take your readings downstream from the old grid location it may show leakage.

I just disconnected the relay from the battery so it couldn't short-out. The relay is still there and can be reconnected in a few minutes.

I bought a spare on ebay and gutted it. I taped wires and tucked out
of the way. I have heat it just takes longer to get. The first morning
it got cold I got a low voltage Grid heater code. I cleared with smarty
and it hasn't come back.
