Getting through the fire wall

I'm looking for a good and easy place to get through the firewall to run the leads for my X-monitor. On my auto there's a plug for where the clutch would be. I think I can just drill right through there?

Any better place to use?

That's what I used. When I was done, I squeezed a little RTV through the hole to seal it up around the wires so I wouldn't get air/fumes through. Worked like a charm.

You can also find rubber grommets on the web to minimize chafing even more. I had looked into them at one time - before I realized our 6-shooters have an unused factory cutout/grommet already there.

I also found a unused plug near the clutch. Just poked a hole in it with a awl and ran the boost capillary tube and EGT wires through it.
