gauges

I finally got my gauges installed today, seems like I didn't really need them. EGT only gets up to about 1000 at 80mph, boost can go as high as 30 and fuel pressure is about 9psi at idle and goes down to about 6 at 80mph. At least I'll be able to keep an eye on fuel pressure so I know when to change the main and 2 micron filters. This is with a Smarty Jr at SW3.

If you tow, your EGT's will get much higher than that.
And IMHO you should have a tranny fluid temp gauge if you tow.

That fleetguard filter that is in the pic in only a 5micron filter. I think you would be better off with a CAT 0750 or Donaldson P551313. They are both True 2 micron filters...

Awesome setup though

If you havent already added one, install a water seperator like the Baldwin BF1212. You can put it in front of the tank inside the frame. Also why not add an actual oil pressure guage? The in dash one is a fake and will not let you know if a problem arises soon enough to save the engine.

I know about the dodge fake oil pressure gauge issue. Is there something wrong with the stock fuelfilter/water seperator? My 2micron filter is after the stock one.

You know that cat 0750 is really a 7micron filter, they get 2 microns using pybass specs. I'm getting Donaldson p551313 from now on.

The 2 mic filter is not a water seperator and the OE filter will remove most water but it really is not adaquite if you get a lot of water. Water is very hard on the injectors. The BF1212 will remove up to 95% of emulsefied water. The OE filter is a good backup but the WIF indicator may not work.

I read that you should have the pyro mounted higher on the manifold, and as far back as possible so your getting the hottest reading. Guess the rear cylinders get the hottest.

Thoughts on that ?

@klickstater. You can get those over head gage mounts from a Viper Srt-10 truck (they come stock in those) and they should mount right up in your truck
