I just did my vent with a full tank. The bed was off so the worst was reaching into a full tank to put the vent in. I just used a sharp utility knife to cut the hole so no plastic shavings got into the tank. Haven't filled up yet so I don't know how nice it is.

I don't think I ever heard the reason for the rollover mod but I figured an inverted U up higher would prevent any fuel seapage or sucking dirt - an overall good idea. I didn't buy the GDP fill hose tee for the return fuel cuz I built my own bulkhead fitting and already had it in the top of the tank before I thought of doing the vent mod . So I slammed together another bulkhead fitting with about a 2" diptube and put it in the top of the tank hump for the new vent. I still have a rubber plug in that new vent fitting cuz I never got around to finding some 3/4" fuel rated hose to finish it. Craig

we should find the best thread on this, and make it a sticky. this one is old, but decent.

the instructions on the kit linked show the stock vent hose being capped off.

why not just remove it, and cut a short piece to cap off the stock vent fitting?

or, why not tee it? and have both vents flowing air to prevent foam while filling?

where does the new vent hose attach to, the vent tube on the filler neck?

my 06 is screaming to wards the end of it's warranty, at 77k miles now....
and it's annoying to not get 500 miles out of a tank.
