Which fuel system air dog or fass?

Which fuel system is better air dog, fass or another? I'm getting six new injectors and want to protect them.

I have the FASS System on my 1996 Dodge CTD and have been very happy with it. You can look at my signature to see where I am at on horsepower and torque. The FASS System has been on my truck for over five (5) years now. If you go with a FASS be sure to ask or use the newer fuel and water
separators. There have been inprovements on both of them over the past few years.

You are going to get alot of opinions (both pro and con) on both systems so be ready for that!

Air Dog

Hello I have an Air Dog system and have had no problems with it. I like the new pick up system they have for the tank. You no longer have to drill a hole in the fuel tank for the pick up tube. Also the adjustable valve for fuel pressure to the injector pump.I would also get a fuel Pressure gauge to monitor the pressure to the injector pump. I know in the Air dog it can be screwed in the body of the pump. Just my two cent but good luck in what ever you choose.

I run a Fass and have friends with them also. I have a couple friends with Airdogs too. They both perform well and are very similar in design. So I say get the one that can be had for the best price. I will add that the Airdogs are a little bit quieter.

Both appear to have problems with the filtration setups and flow rates on the filters. They should have consulted with Fleetguard / Cummins Filtration first.

use an Airdog 150 with Fleetgaurd filters have had no problems

I was installing quite a few airdogs for guys because the price difference. But since they went to the quick disconnect crap. No longer. Full on fass now!! Got one sitting on the shelf for my mega!!

Make sure to take a look at mechanical pumps too. Its nice when as the rpm goes up so does the FP, kind of what the truck wants . Anyway I will be going mechanical on my current build. Had a Fass 150 before and not one issue.

FASS Platinum, best filtration of all of em and the cheapest one too!

It doesn't look like you have any power adders, so a pump isn't necessary (even up to 100 over stock its not needed).

Get a frame mounted f/w sep (Baldwin BF1212), and put a GDP MK2+ kit under-hood with a Donaldson P551313; put a Baldwin PF7977 in the OE canister and get a fuel psi gauge, you will exceed the filtration of any of the filtered pumps, spend less money and know whats going on pressure wise.

Can I install a mechanical pump on my 2007 5.9 or is it electric all the way. I believe the stock setup is now all electric?

Yes, you can put a mechanical fuel pump on your 2007 as Rye Thomas already pointed out. My Son has one on his 2004 Dodge CTD CR and it works very well. The fuel pump sits just below the vibration damper and is run by a v-belt off the damper as I recall. He got the system through one of the DTR Advertisers, namely, "TRE Diesel." Give Tim Barber a call and he can set you up. Tim is a great guy and really knows our Dodge CTD CR trucks well. Heck, he has one that puts down over 1,000 RWHP!

Either one is a good system. If I were you I would just add a good 2 micron filter in between the factory fuel filter and the CP3. Since you are stock, I see no need for anything else.

AGREE 100%.....MECHANICAL ALL THE WAY!!

Love my Mitusa......

ON EDIT....
I had a Airdog before and switched to the mechanical Mitusa and im much happier with this system, no electronics to worry about.
