fuel pressure guage messing up injectors?
fuel pressure guage messing up injectors?
Getting ready to install mechanical fuel pressure guage. My thinking for the guage was to monitor the lift pump and filter.
After doing some lurking its seems the isolators dont hold up very well and it seems that there are quite a few guage failures as well, for those who hook up without an isolator.
That said, if the the isolators and guages are coming apart, wont those lil pieces of stuff get sent threw the pump and injectors if the tap is between the fuel filter and the injector pump?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I wasnt able to find info.
Thanks in advance

Nope, because there is positive pressure pushing AGAINST the diaphram. So fuel makes it's way to the gauge. I've seen autometer's response, they created a "buffer" for their diaphrams and digital fp senders. It's basically an aireator type deal, think those like those porous rock things used in fish tanks that air gets pumped into for bubbles. That, enclosed in a tube with fittings at each end. This buffers the fuel pulses (high pressure spike caused by the inj pump after each cycling) so the gauges don't die.
