Is anyone running the Freeze Plug Retainer Plate kit from Wicked Diesel? Is it a worthy add-on for someone who probably won't go past 500hp? I figured if it's worth it, I might as well put it in now while the tranny is pulled.

I don't know about Wicked's system but I did add a plate to the back of my block with the trans still in and it was HARD... doable but hard. So if you've got the tranny out, by all means do something if you plan on doing anything in the future...

 

Since any water jacket overpressure event will just pop out the next weakest core plug, you'd be better off installing a coolant pressure bypass kit.
