Free Mod to Remove Speed Limiter for Racing Only!!!

Well, I don't know if anyone who reads this has kept track with my and many others delimma about the speed limiter on our trucks. I had a post going here https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=118749 and through discussion and a few test runs by some friends, and we can confirm this is absolutely worth while.

Simply remove the 2 ABS fuses from the under hood pannel #6 & #35. You only loose your speedo, everything else works. And you'll be on your way to higher revs and speedier trips!!!!!!

Now the only thing you need is install two switches inside the cab for convenience.

I don't know bout the 2nd gens, dont see why not though. Probly just different #'d fuses. As to the switch, only time I'd ever need it is when I'm at the track running slicks, or a street race. There for, not a hassle to do just a few times a month at most. Otherwise, 110-112mph is fine and fast enough for all the other driving I do.

Yeah, that kinda rates up there with the thread talking about automatic headlights...my take on it is this: DRIVE, stupid! If you can't do that then get off the road.

Mike, there is a wire on the firewall of the second gens that you can clip to get a free fix for the top end limiter. The down side is you lose your cruise control. I can't remeber the wire for sure, but think it was orange and black.

Ask Jetpilot, I think he is familiar with it. You can wire a toggle switch in line and disconnect the limiter on the fly from in the cab

I think this should be in the faq section now, seeing as how it is so easily done.

I was having a real major problem with my ATS Co-Pilot and it just didn't work right. The solution was that part of the signal it uses was being captured first by my BD Top Speed Eliminator so I had a choice of one or the other,... RATS!! I took the Co-Pilot. This will give me my Top Speed Elimination back. Tks a bunch.

Could'nt you you a downloader and set the abs tire size up to 40+ inches to raise top speed?? the truck would think it was going slower.

I've always wondered that myself...Except the other way around. Bigger tires go faster given the same RPM.
