Found something in the tank while adding vent kit

I found this in the tank while I was adding the vent kit. I don't think it was hurting anything but I removed it anyway. I think it is the plasics from a nockout for the original vent. Anyone else found this present?

Wasn't in my tank.....!!! Don't think it'd hurt anything unless it somehow got hung up on the sender float.
