Is the Smarty putting 230+hp and 400+tq to the ground and NOT needing anything else like the BDDL? I mean, obviously you want a good exhaust and intake...perhaps in the future some better injectors...but what is the comparison between the two?

And yes, this thread started with me beating a Ford...now I want more

Better build your tranny. You sound like you drive like me. The only reason I haven't bought a smarty and a BDDL yet is because of the 48RE slushbox. Almost have enough for my transmission. Then I'm gonna start pourin' smoke.
I had some kid in a Dodge neon w/ a pipe and neons pull up and startin revvin' me, and to beat it all he had a Pizza Hut delivery sign on top. . I held the brakes, revved to around 1600, and let her eat. He never saw anything but tailights.

I had already planned on a new TC and valve bodies...I have been researching these trannies weaknesses a bit...not so extensively that I know exactly what brand I will go with yet, but enough to know that the internals are pretty decent, and as long as I'm not going up and over 500hp, I should be ok with a TC and VBs for a bit anyway...

Don't forget gauges!

Supporting mods are every bit as important...

Yep...gonna get some of those too when the time comes...but I want mine mounted either on the dash, on down by the fold out cup holders...I want to keep the handle so that the wife can continue to get into the truck if she needs to

I am tempted to try the CL out as well... I ran against my little sister's SRT-4 a few weeks ago and got dusted. Its a high 13 second car with just a CAI but I think the Crazy Larry will make it a little closer race vs just the Extreme.

Not to derail the thread but how do you like the Silverline turboback? Does it drone at all when towing or on the highway and how's the sound?

this thread has BEEN derailed brother, so don't sweat it...it started off with me eating an F-150s breakfast As for the Silverline, I LOVE it...deep throaty sound when you mash on the skinny pedal, but when you level out the fuel, such as being on the interstate, you can't even hear it...NO drone. I haven't had a chance to pull anything with it yet, so I couldn't tell you, but I would have to assume that like take off, it would get a little throaty with you, then level out to where you couldn't even hear it again...that's why I bought it, my buddy has one and I LOVED the fact that it didn't annoy me on the highway. Installed it myself and it was a breeze, I even did away with the kitty cat

I guarantee when you tow it will drone only in the 1000-1600 rpm range but it will make you want to get above that quick fast and in a hurry...

As for the smarty I think it is a toss up.. Some trucks it works great some it doesn't. ask Luken it smoked his ECM!!! Not to happy with the smarty so he went back to the BDDl.. As far as numbers I think the smarty is putting out a little more than Bullydog but if you have something that works great don't change.. Trust me..... For some reason my BDDL is throwing codes with my 06 though haven't had a chance to contact Bullydog but other than that it runs great. I removed Crazy larry because I don't have guages yet and only have 2600 miles on her...

And you don't need a fully built tranny if your smart.. I towed a 30 foot enclosed work trailer with 10000 lbs and never hurt it once.. My egt' went throught the roof in a heartbeat but if you were smart you'd be ok.. Once i went to CL I never went back your truck will never be the same.

The Smarty puts 195 to the tires (on '04.5 and up).
