Hoss, in flipping thru the channels the other day I caught a burn out competition on tv. They were all hotrods and they were burning out in violent 360's etc, not just powerbraking like it appears john was doing in the pic. one of the hotrods caught the rear tires on fire repeatedly, it was pretty cool.

Hey jon, Come out to Cali in sept. I need some comptition this year. Last year I won the amature class for the route 66 burn out contest. I also competed in the frestyle class. Had my truck spinning in circles. Was awsome.

I asked permission to walk it out since several other competitors did, but they asked me not too, so I didn't. It did eat the concrete though. The tranny temps never went over 160 if I remember correctly, but that's because I let it cool off for a while before doing the burnout. It took maybe 5 seconds to get into overdrive, and the tranny doesn't slip when locked up in OD.

NO, not at 50. 2nd gear lasts up to around 40mph at redline. I was hitting the rev limiter locked up in OD.

Haven't seen the actual tire catch on fire in person, but have seen the burnt rubber catch. But, here is a video of that happening...

I still don't have the video of my CTD doing a burnout... but it wasn't a burnout comp, it was jsut warming up the tires for a run down the strip. I also have one of my Hemi that I'll have to find as well...
