Finally South Bend Coming Thursday!!!!

Well it's been a long wait ,but I just got the phone call from SB that my clutch will be here thursday. I am going to do this my self in the drive way. I got a good trans jack one for Heavy duty applications, jack stands ,and floor jacks. Does any one have any last minute tips or tricks. Can't wait to get this in.

Thanks Peter and all the South Bend crew.

Its key to have a nice tranny jack! And a buddy to help yea! the only problem i ran in to was when i went to take the dual mass fly wheel off i couldnt figured out how so i called peter! their is a little door thing with two bolts holding it on on the back side "passenger side" take that cover off then you will be able to get to the bolts holding the fly wheel on just have to routate the fly wheel to get to all the bolts! Then your probley going to need to walk the tranny back on with the bolts! I left my transfer case on and also left my silverline exshaust on and didnt have any problems
I just bearly turned over 500 miles on mine around town driving so it should be good and broke in

If you have any ?'s you can PM me and ill see if i can help ya

Good luck

Jesse

Thanks allot for the info. How many bolts hold the flywheel on. Taking the flywheel off sounds like taking the bolts out of an converter from an auto.

Its exactly like taking the TQ of an auto off. Then be sure to remove the DMF adapter plate. I didnt have to talk the tranny in with the bolts. Had my brother on the back pushing with is legs while i pushed form the bell housing. Its pretty straight forward once you dive in.

6 or 8 cant remeber? Well their ya go Ive never worked on an auto everything i own is a standard! Just dont freak if it doesnt just go straight in for you like ^him^ plenty of us have had to walk the tranny in! one more thing make sure the orange sealer boot were the shifting lever comes out doesnt have a tear in it mine had a little one and figured i hadnt had a problem with it before so i didnt worry about it then the other day i noticed oil on my cement and sure enough it was coming from the sealer boot dripping down the side of my tranny! I know im not the only one that has had that problem so im just throwing that out their for ya

If your taking the flywheel off and there it isn't too big a pain, might aslo be a good idea to replace the rear main seal.

Sorry it took so long I was at a KC meeting. I went with the DD 3250 with the ductile flywheel. Also I got the hydro upgrades. This should be the perfect clutch for me.

I talked to peter about this clutch about two months ago ,and I was on the waiting list to get it. I am sure it will be worth the wait. Peter said that the ductile flywheel saves money it's just not SFI approved. I am not going to be doing any competition sled pulling so this clutch should be the right choice.
