Finally put stacks
I have a 48re and the Bullydog Downloader on "Extreme". As you can see I get plenty of smoke. I can keep a deep haze going til OD then it stops. Trust me, brake torque it (brake to the floor, stomp on gas) you'll get smoke til the turbo spools (torque limiting from ECU). I'll prolly get a vid of it tommorow.

I think the passenger pipe is a hair off... but only cause it was mentioned and I went back to look at it and now the new ones.
I wouldn't mind doing stacks on mine some day, but I just couldn't do that now since I get no smoke.

just curious..why not go to the side bed rails? maybe it was covered earlier but maybe not....on a SRW truck i think it makes you truck alot more narrow now..on a dually it would be alright but i think they are too narrow and bit too tall...
they do look good tho...i am a fan of stacks done in good taste and these are pretty good

I also wonder why they are so close together. My other question - and I'm not that familiar with stack installations - is why is that big split in the bed? Can't that all be done below the bed and just have two pipes coming up through the bed?
It's a T-fitting. I picked it up from a Fleetpride store for around 60 I think. I didn't run 'em to the bedrails cause I ran out of cash and didn't have enough for the sections of 5" pipe to go to the bedrails. As far as going under the bed, you MIGHT be able to if you trim a section of bed and pass it between the frame and bed, but only on the passenger side for a single stack. The fuel tank is in the way on the driver's side, and do you really want an exaust pipe an inch away from your fuel cell?
I'll prolly go today and have them run 'em out to the sides of the bed now that I've recouped a bit from buying some more equipment. I'll prolly go this AM, and also have them move the toolbox further up because the lift/37's are going on in May, and 37's don't fit under the bed, sooo I'm gonna borrow my local performance shop's MIG pretty soon and fab up a nice bed-mounted tire carrier. I've done one exactly like the one for my truck, except it was for a K5. I think I might decided to go "bling" and make it outta chrome moly, since I've never worked with the stuff, and I have access to a TIG, with some experience on it.
Anyhow, I'll post pictures of it with the stacks run out to the outside later on today, and also try to get the toolbox as close to the stacks as possible for enough room for the 37" tire. Gotta call Kilby up and see if the OBA brackets are available yet, cause I'm in dire need (lost a bead this Sunday, right rear. Had to swap front tire to back, and put lil' donut in front, **** careless me).

It's not really a problem in front where it's an open differential. If it was a "solid" diff, meaning a spool, it wouldn't be happy. I doubt the spidergears saw any wear considering no power was being applied. I drove roughly 2 miles back to my friend's house to reseat the bead. It was pretty fun considering how badly it was. Had to siphon out a good 1/2 gallon of water from the tire, clean the beads/rim, and smack it with a sledge while airing it up (plus a ratchet strap).
Oops, forgot to check back. They work well, but it's subjective since they were half used when I bought them from a fellow 3rd gen'er, plus my burnout video and a trip to the track has 'em pretty shallow, but they're still great. A little noisey on the highway (!!!) if you can hear it over the turbo and stacks
Ya gotta smoke like this man:

Just don't come to Virginia, there is a new hire state cop heck bent on making a name for himself and he has pulled me and my son ever already for illegal exhaust. My sons pic in in the album next to mine.
Good luck and very nice job by the way.
