Finally got my muffler on.

Thanks again to Mark Craig. Finally got my MBRP Mk96116 muffler installed today. Install was a snap, just had to cut a couple inches off of the "S" pipe to get it to fit (probably didn't cut enough off at the tail pipe).

SOUND!!! The sound is awesome. Just after driving maybe 30 miles tonight it sounds like it's getting a little better and better with more miles. Sounds great under acceleration. Had another guy take it for a drive so I could hear it and it's the sound that I was trying to achieve!!

Thanks again Mark and everyone for all the help.
I will try to take a little video or sound clip of it so others can listen to what it sounds like with the cat still in place, I was hoping someone out there had one when I was looking so maybe I can help someone else out...

That would be great. I am thinking about doing the same thing with my '05, and would love to hear some sound clips before spending the money. It is not a huge deal if it is too hard, but I think that they would help me with my decision. Did you put a tip on as well?

Thanks in advance.

Horsehauler..........I told you it wasn't a big deal to change. The MBRP muffler kit was the best $145.00 I ever spent and a lot cheaper than going for the whole system! I don't know about you but I am seeing about 1 to 1.5mpg fuel savings if I take it easy.

I liked my MBRP muffler a lot when I first installed it a few months ago, but it's now starting to annoy me with a slight drone that wasn't present at first. Don't know if I'll switch mufflers altogether or order the MBRP resonator. Also, why don't they have an all in one piece muff/resonator like the Aero 40404L since some foliks end up ordering the resonator afterwards.

Do you still have your cat in place or a tip on your truck?

MBPR has another satisfied customer! This is the best kit I've seen for these trucks. Gotta love that sound!

For those of you that tried the muffler with the cat on and then took the cat off, how do you compare the sound?

Without the cat that when you get the big change. More sound and it seams to build boost quicker. It gets noticed without the cat! I get a much stronger pull from 2200 to 3000r's. I used the MBRP cat delete and it fits as well as the muff.

sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. I just went out and took some shots of my muffler and where I cut, that should help you out. I haven't gotten a chance to take a sound clip yet though.

Stock Muffler

Front cut (towards the turbo) Roughly 5 1/4"

Tail pipe cut. Roughly 9". with this cut I had to cut off about 2 inches of the "S" pipe for it to fit. I could of cut more off the tailpipe probably but didn't.

So how is this? Will it help you out??

Eric

hey thanks for the pixs. i do not know why i was so scared, because after the frist cut i had it all done inabout one hour.this is before i seen your pixs.i have to say it was real easy.but i did cut the pipe. allmost like you did, i think. but here is how i did mine.frist i cut the front pipe of the muffler off .were the stock clamp was, allso did the back of the muffler the same way.then i took a air chisel and nocked off the last part of the old muffler pipe.installed the s pipe with out any cutting. but i did have to cut the factory tail pipe about another two inches to fit the pipe. and it all fits real goood now.how do you post pix's on this sight. if i can figure it out i will post some pixs of mine.but it allmost looks like the way you have yours set up.allso i even took a picture. of how you did yours, with me to go buy. but just wanted to say thanks for the help. next on the long list of things i want to do. is get a cat test pipe. Thanks Mopar72
