Finally bought a Diablo

I bought a Diablo for my truck and it came in yesterday. Since my truck isn't do well at the moment, i let my buddy SPEEDSHIFT play with it.

He said he put the "Extreme Stacker" tune on his truck and wasn't very impressed.

Which tune is that? a 160hp tune?

What tunes come with the downloader?

I'm gonna go browse the Diablo site for the new puff tunes.

Talking

the stacker tunes are made for the puck,if he doesnt have a puck it wont be very strong.get him to load reg extreme.its very nice.then get the cord and load the new software update{r28}and get the rkl tune,i could drain my rail on the reg extreme rkl .the puffers are a whole nother issue.the factory tunes are conservative for safty issues, the custom tunes have tranny warnings on them for a good reason. autos= byebye

Yea i was just reading your posts on the Diablo site.

He has a 6speed and doesn't care about his clutch....and he has an EZ so thats why he loaded a stacker tune.

Which cable do i need? I heard I could buy one at RadioShack?

Go to the 'download' section on their site, enter which unit it is, then it will show you what you can download, I believe. There is on that says 'Download instructions". It should tell you in there what you need to get @ radio shack. HTH

I think the cable is a "DB9 serial cable" or a "DB9 to USB" converter. You will also need a 12V 1000mA power adapter unless you have a lap-top. Then you can just use the truck to power up the tool and update your Predator using the lap-top. You will also need to download the "DSdownloader" from Diablo's web site......

the local place said the diablo puts in its own VIN number on 04 trucks and older and then they have issues later on. they have had some issues with these. may just be the stack tune.

It wont slip it anyway.

I sure hope the downloaded versions are ALOT stronger. Like Phil said I put it on "Extreme Stacker" and with my EZ the way up it wont even slip my stock clutch. The day before, I had a chance to try the Smarty Beta 4.4 and I would compare the Diablo Sport "extreme stacker" to Smarty 4.4 on SW1...............I am sorry but I am not joking.

I dont doubt the other tunes are way better, but out of the box I am disapointed.

if you want more then the extreame stacker then just put the extreme load in it with out stacker mode.its alot more timing.they take a away some for the stacking with the puck.it seem to work alot better with the puck when i tried it.i tried the ez and wasn't impressed with it so then i bought the combo.

Stack tunes take away pressure... This is probably the 20th post where I've had to tell people this... Puck has nothing to do with timing...at least for 03-05's.

does the diablo DL add pressure on it's own? or is it timing and duration only.

and does the stacker add pressure? how much?

i wasn't talking bout the puck i was talking bout the program .they take away some of the timing and pressure so you wont have to much when you stack them.the puck is a pressure chip ONLY.the stack program is there for where you can run the programmer and the puck together and they will work together very well for the average person.but other folks that are looking for more power dont have to run the staker tune they can run just the regualr tune its all for personal pref.
