Fender flare question

Has anyone used these cheaper flares from ebay? I am looking to match the texture on the mirrors and rear bumper pad. Also will a 1" flare keep some of the tire salt and mud spray off of the side of the truck or am I waisting my time? The 2" seems a bit too wide for my stock 265 tires.

I don't have any information about the flares your asking about however you might want to read the numerous threads here and on other sites regarding the damage flares do to the clear coat and paint around the fenders when you install them and leave them on for a long period of time.

I don't know what is worst the rubbing off of the paint or not being able to touch the side of my truck. In the winter the entire side of my truck and running boards from front to back gets sprayed with salt/mud from my 265 Studded Snows. The OEM mud flaps don't help with the spray much. Around here the sand(mud) the roads allot. I am looking for a cheap set to stop the "two tone look".

You have a long box. Make sure the ones you get are for a long box. There is a difference.

If I didn't have the flares on mine, I wouldn't have any paint let at all. I am guessing that you are right about it being hard on the paint though. But that is a price I am willing to pay to keep the rest of the truck somewhat nice.
