Exclamation F-16 Turbo..

Well, I finally got around to putting in my AFE with the torque tube. I took my silencer ring out a while ago. Went for my first ride,, and wholly cr@p that thing is loud!! I'm thinking it's almost a little tooo much. This is my daily driver, and I'm a little heavy on the pedal, so I think it's gonna drive me nuts after a while. I don't want to get rid of the AFE, so will I get a happy medium if I put the silencer ring back in?? I don't want it quiet either...

silencer ring doesn't do much either way, i'd leave it out and enjoy scaring little kids and old people.

Silencer Ring

I took my ring out and it sounded a little odd, so I put it back in. I have the airaid intake and tube and my turbo sings. I already get a head ache from it too. I think you'll like the middle if you put the ring back in. It's not that hard to put in, take out, and you already have it, might as well try.

you'll get used to it, just make sure it isn't super loud due to the afe tube falling off after the first flex of the motor

I liked it with the Mega-Cannon installed, and the silencer ring installed for longer trips. The Whistle can be really bad if your truck cruises the highway at ~10psi boost.

Be sure if you put the silencer ring back in that the c-ring seats very well, several people have had their ring fall back out after re-installing it because it is very difficult to get the ring to fully seat.

Well,, found the problem.. The cheapest part of the system failed. The sleeve that joins to the turbo split 1/2 way around.. It's a tight fit down there, and it looks like the torque tube didn't line up perfectly.. So, I gutted the silencer tube of the stock system and put it back on for now. Now that's the sound I was looking for! Only loud if you stand on it!! I'll call AFE and get a new one and try it again later I guess.....
