exhaust Qustion

Would like to know if someone can tell me what it would cost to have exhaust installed. I want to get turbo back for my 2005 and see good prices online but then you have to have installed.

Get you a good Silverline T304 (lifetime warranty) turbo back, or whatever you can find and want and install yourself...it's a simple unbolt and bolt on procedure...save yourself the 3-500 bucks that someone else would charge you to install it...get a buddy and do it in an hour or two...just my two cents

Absolutely. What you want to do is nothing a case of beer won't cure. Just don't let your buddy (s) drink it before they are done!

Yep,
must agree, you will need a buddy. I paid $86.00 to have a muffler delete pipe installed today, needed to be welded though, I thought it was quite steep as I had already removed the muffler, all that needed to be done was the welding and adding two hangars.

Why did it need welded?

I know brother...I don't have a kitty anymore either...just a new 4" down pipe from the turbo (v clamp is the ONLY pain in the butt about the install) and a 6" flow through muffler, then on out the end with a 5" tip...looks and sounds great...and it's still an easy install, like I said...get ya a buddy and go to town. It's honstly nothing that you can mess up...long as you can loosen and tighten bolts, you can install an exhaust.

PS, where are you from? Fill in your signature...I bet that you could find somebody on here near you that could help a bit if you didn't feel confident doing it yourself...

It's really pretty easy. The hardest part will be removing your old system. Also, installing the down pipe with the "v-clamps" (I think that's what they're called) can be a PITA. But I did that with most of the horizontal portion attached to the down pipe. If it’s just a down pipe, then no prob.

I agree the band clamp or v clamp is a major PITA , i spent 4 hours just trying to get that back on , granted i was in my gravel driveway on my back , if i had a lift it probably been easier

the downpipe was the first thing that I put on and ended up having to actually BEND the hangar piece on it a bit to fit into the hole AND still be able to fit into the v band clamp...then I tightened it down, went back and hung the muffler, then put all the rest of the pieces on last...PITA is right on the downpipe

BTW, are you upgrading to a 5" system? You already have a 4". Thought of just getting a new muffler? Or straight pipe? Just some thoughts. It would save you some money.

I should have done that. Instead I spent too much time trying to twist the old system out.
