Exhaust Experiment

Here's what I'm thinking:

Cut the pipe 2" behind the cat. Add 4" to 5" adapter. 5" straight pipe. Reduce back to 4" at the factory tailpipe section. Will this sound any different than a 4" straight pipe the whole way ???

I don't know, but I will tell what I wonder, what would it look like if a truck that smokes heavily put a 1 inch reducer on the end of his exshaust system. Hmmmmmm I think it would just spit a bleck stream for a few feet.

Why not keep it 5" all the way back into a 6" tip?

Maybe in the future I go 5" all the way. But right now, I don't have the 5" tail section, just the stock one. And it's always in the way laying on the gargage floor.
