Exhaust...almost ready

...posted this at the end of another exhaust thread a couple days ago, but no responses. I'm hoping to have this installed Friday or Saturday morning.

My 4040 Aeroturbine arrived today...it's almost too pretty to put where no one will see it! The rest of my SS pipe should be here Wed. or Thursday. I've found a local shop with a rep. for doing custom exhaust work. They have offered to cut the old stuff off and put the new stuff on for $65. A little pricey I think, but worth it to have it done right (the first time) and not even have to get my hands dirty, I guess. I'll have them put the 4040 right behind the CAT and then straight pipe out after that with a 5" tip.

My question, better to have this shop weld the new stuff on or just clamp it all together? I'll be putting in the 4040, SS off-set pipe, and a 5" tip. And...what to do with the stock muffler? Any value in keeping it or am I just going to be looking to toss it in a few months anyway because I'm tired of looking at it in the garage?

thanks,
daniel

For $65.00 let the shop do it and toss the stock muffler you will get tired of tripping over it. JMHO

I like clamping mine, makes it easier to get it out of the way when needed.
Welding is the more secure way though...my 2 cents

Tell what an aeroturbine is? ....its just a muffler. I was under the impression that aeroturbine and 4040 were common terms around here. Sorry. The 4040 is the version without the resonator.
