Unhappy engine making noise

Well looks like the dodge will be heading to the dealer in the morning.started the truck up to go get some food and heard a bad scratching noise and rattling.i had a feeling hat it could be fomr what it sounded like.it looks like the bearing in the top idler pully is going out has lots of play.i was going to remove the blt and make sure it went away but its under warranty im just gonna take and use it for once.the truck only has 18k on it.kinda disapponited me.but it happens,if the dealer wont warranty it i will just do it myself.

I hope you have a mod friendly service department at the dealer. I never worried about my mods on the truck, but I expected to be my own warranty provider pretty early on.

I had a pinion seal go bad on mine on the front transfer case and the dealer gave me a hard time because an aftermarket muffler. That was before I had the Edge Juice (only the Edge w/o the monitor), so no telling what they would say now! They ended up covering it, but made it a hassle none the less.

I found a dealer that doesnt really ask about anything but I feel the same way you do. I planned on no warranty early in the game

I would go ahead and set your downloader back to stock in case a tech drives it. I had some dash parts fixed a while back and I take the truck in stock in case they drive it for no reason. I dont say a word about whats done to the truck. I am also nice to the dealer I go to. I dont suck up to them but I am friendly when I go in there.

stop by the dealer today and wanted to check on my truck.it seems that it was the idler pully going out.i ended up know the tech a little bit through some family friends.I talk to him a little bit,i left my cold air intake on my truck cause i work for on diesels for a living at a dealersgip,so i wanted to see how they were going to be.he said as long as it didn't come in for a dusted engine then no he wasn't worried bout it.they seemed nice.waiting on parts so it looks like its going to be tomorrow.

they had a 6.7 engine apart next to mine it was intresting.the only thing im not fond of is the exhaust brake is in the turbo.he said they have had some problems with the injectors getting th right volyage but they have some new software that has fixed that.
