Will the 04.5 Cummins 6 speed transmission handle EFI? or how much HP will it handle?

 

EFI won't be out for hte 04.5's for a while.

It depends on what kind of tune you have, as with any other performance modifications. If the tranny is in good shape, 100 hp moderately driven for a while, but how many miles are on the tranny? It's probably already weak.

If the 6 spd (NV5600) clutch hasn't been abused it should easily handle 100HP to 130HP. If the clutch is tired upgrade to a South Bend or Valair.

No telling when EFI will be available for the '03-'05 models.
