Educate me on how to use my new Edge and what is next....
Hey guys!
On my days off I installed the following:
Rokk sensor
AFE Stage II
Edge juice with attitude
(I also have a 4" dynomax buillit muffler in place of my stocker). Basically Stage I of the '05 Cummins buildup in the Diesel Power magazine for fall2005.
And I figured out 95% of the issues with my new superlift lift.... it came with a tranny drop bracket that I think is good for 1 pc driveshaft shortbox trucks...put my stock bracket back in and it solved 95% of my problems. I'm happy now.
Anyhow, on my way back upto work (800 miles) I played around with the edge a little bit and I like it a lot so far. Level 1 seems to be great for all around driving and I saw my boost really go up (about 5-6lbs over no edge and with an analog gauge) and the power is nice. Level 3 is nice too, I think this level you finally start to notice you have a box. I tried it once on level 4, felt strong, but did not do too much throttle at all.
I have not hooked up the EGT probe yet (I have a real gauge) so I don't want to push the truck until it has the backdown feature enabled. I will put my analog gauge post turbo at that time to still have it work.
I want to know more about the trans slip display option and what the normal "range" is. I don't think I ever saw mine move much past 0.0 or the "N" whatever it means.
My main problem was the lack of bottom end power with the 3.73s and 37" tires and the Edge did help. I notice there is low boost fueling adjustment on each level, so I set them all to 5. Because I want as fast a turbo spool up as possible.
What should I set it to/watch for to get the most low rpm power/response and keep the top end good?
What should be my next "mod"?
I want to get a new converter and valvebody next, but then I would like to get something to increase low end further, maybe up the fuel pressure slightly and control the boost (is there a pressure/boost box out there to stack well with the juice?). At what point will I need fuel system mods?
The guys in that magazine got 395rwhp out of what i have right now, but I want to be able to make 400-420rwhp and do it safe. What do I need?
I work/live out of this truck most of the time.
Thanks guys.
