Hey there. I am looking at doing a little upgrading to the truck in the next few weeks, and would like to know what some people thought about my ideas.

I found a good deal on an Edge Juice w/Attitude that came off an '06. I am also thinking about going with stand alone Autometer gauges and a Smarty for now. I am not sure if the Juice will even work on my '05, but am in the process of finding out.

Anyway I need to know about reliability, problems (codes, etc.), ease of use, and performance. I have done so many searches and read so many articles and posts about these two products that I have a headache. I am looking for sound opinions and suggestions from folks who are not only trying to get good reliable performance, but who also do not have a wallet with money falling out.

The 06 juice will not work on your 05. But I think I just saw one for an 05 on the classifieds on this site.
I can answer your question about the Juice VS SMARTY hopefully next week, as I have a SMARTY coming to try out. There are a coupel people that have tried both, so hopefully they will give their input.

 

Up to you, I just like the analog gauges better, you can tell at a glance whats going on, better for me than having to "read" digitals.

The chip or programmer will come later. Plan was to wait til the warranty is up but chances of me lasting 5 years is slim (thanks to this place!)

Whatever I get, I want something that leaves no traces for the dealer to find, I guess that means a programer¿?

 

The EDGE w/ attitude is sweet and very driveable. Guages and settings are a snap if you read the manual. Nice little setup but you'll need at least TC/VB. The Juice took out my OD clutches in about a dozen hard runs at wot,.....that was on a stock tranny. About lvl 3 is all you want until you get the tranny upgraded.

You'll find the SMARTY to be a lot more throttle sensitive. I think Marco has a new download to minimize that but I don't know for sure. Once you get use to a sensitive throttle then it's not bad and I kind of like just breathing on the throttle for excelleration. One of those learned appetites. The SMARTY at the levels I run vs the highest Juice levels is NO comparison,... SMARTY hands down. It would probably take a HOT Juice w/EZ to match a SMARTY.

Codes weren't a problem on either unit for me. Follow the instructions,... many problems are user induced.

 

Thanks guys, this is just what I am looking for. And I guess that since a Juice off an '06 wont work, then I will be looking at going with a Smarty. Keep it coming though, the more knowledgeable info I have before I spend my money the happier I will be.
