Edge Juice w/ Att question re: turbo timer

Does anyone know if you can set the timer for a few minutes, lock the truck, run into a store, unlock the doors, insert and turn the key to "ON" and drive off normally?

Also, does anyone know what would happen if someone tried to drive the truck while the timer is on without the key in?

I am really leaning on getting an Edge Juice w/ Att, and was wondering if I could safely idle my truck for a couple of minutes without it getting ripped off.

I have the Edge on my 06' and yes you can do that. You have the option of selecting exhaust gas temp or minutes for the turbo timer. As for theft prevention, the truck shuts off as soon as you touch the brake.

Great! I take it that it is the same for both automatics and manuals. Correct?

Yes. It is the same. Just be aware that all electrical items work as long as the truck is running on the timer. Radio and electric windows for example.

Must be a 06 and newer thing. Reason why I mentioned it was if you leave the dog in the truck he may step on the window button and roll it down. It happened to me.

No key in on possition, can't move steering wheel, also won't be able to move shift lever out of park (if auto). Like said above as soon as you touch the brake it will shut off.

As a follow-up question to this, what is the max time you could set the turbo timer to?

I am thinking that if it like 20-30 minutes, I could run out to the truck, start it up and let it idle safely in turbo cooldown mode, until I am ready to leave. Using it as kind of a remote-start w/o the "remote" part of the equation.

Thanks,

Chris
