Edge boost ?'s

Just got my Edge/Attitude put in today and I must say the power is nice but I am a little worried about my boost pressure. This is my first time on a turbo diesel to run a boost gauge so I didn't know what to expect. Factory default for the warning alarm was 36 #. I have seen 38# already just on the stock setting and 42# on level 5. At what point should I be worried about damage? Is the default of 36# too low? Is 42# getting dangerous? Only have 15,000 miles on it so I hate to blow the turbo. How about helping a feller out here.

Highest ive seen is 39 with mine but I did get an intercooler (dont know if this makes a difference). I have heard people say that they would worry about a stock turbo doing more 38 but it doesnt stay there for long and then it goes back down. I set my alarm to 38 cause I was tired of tha chirping it does over 36. Im not sure of the exact details but I know I have seen people with stacked boxes running a max higher than yours. For what its worth (although im sure youve heard) dont go crazy thrashin on lvl 5 or youll need a clutch right now. Mine smoked within the first hour.

I see 38-39 max. that is only just matted though and never really sustained. I just bumped my alarm and defueling to 40psi. never hit it now. that is too high sustained but you just don't see those numbers very often and the alarm drives me nuts.

I can see 38 on stock and have seen 42 on level 3 and that wasn't WOT. I was just cruising and got into it a little. It is set to defuel at 38, default setting, but it goes way over easily. Would 42 be hazzardous?

The attitude monitor can be set to defuel at your parameters and it isnt supposed to exceed that I thought. Maybe it is climbing for some reason while it is defueling. Your readings do seem pretty high to me. I would call edge on monday and see what they think. They built it let them fix it.

Update. I talked to Edge today and they are sending me a new juice and moniter. They said I had one with an automatic program and needed the G56 3:73 program. They said 04.5 and 05 had a standard and automatic program that were different. Also said the boost is way too high. So they are sending a new one. The best part is I run mine until it gets here and then send it back. Great costumer service.

I am seeing these high boost numbers as well. I just got the J/A in and installed today (2/13/06). In just a little playing around, I am seeing some high boost #s. I have the 6 spd manual as well, and I am thinking that I might need to get the manual program as well. Will you let me know if there is a noticeable improvement, when you get the updated one from Edge?

I will definetly post an update. My boost were hitting 38+ even on stock. 42 when turned on and getting on it easily, not running it hard. Edge said it may be higher than that but the Attitude only went to 42. Scares the h*** out of me. I can't afford to ruin my truck. I also ordered ISSPRO boost and egt gauge from DPP. That way I know for sure what is going on.

yeah something is different than mine becuse I could not even hit the 36 alarm unless I just matted the thing. I have it set to 40 right now and have never hit it.

Thanks! look forward to seeing if it does any different for you. While we are on the subject of high boost #s; When (lol not if) my intercooler fails (plastic) What would be a good replacement? Is the banks Hardware any good, or are there other recommendations? I know Dodge could replace it with OEM, but I tend to like to upgrade, if I am replacing parts anyway. Thanks for any info!!

Get the stocker if its free, but you will have the down time and tow bill if it gets you before you get a replacement.
