dyno with/without exhaust brake?
dyno with/without exhaust brake?
has anyone dynoed with and without an exhaust brake installed? I'll even take sotp dynos. At our local dyno event the exhaust / ventilation system popped off during my dyno run and the truck instantly spooled up. I couldn't help but to start wondering if my exhaust brake might be affecting performance a little.
thanks-

You could ditch the 4" elbow and install a 5" inline somewhere on your d/p. My bet is that you wouldn't see too much of a difference. I can't remember if you're still running a stock intake horn, but I would be there is where you'd see a difference.
I'll bring some tools to the next dyno if you want to try. I still have my stock elbow for you to use
I'm running a 4" inline pacbrake... Don't see how it could cause enough turbulence to cost HP... Don't think you would be able to see it on a graph.. Besides 2hp isn't worth ditching my brake!!
I thought about the same thing. The PacBrake elbow is not a smooth arc like the stock elbow, or even the Jacobs elbow. I can't see it making too much of a difference, however. Not as much as that 4" pipe running up through the roof...
