Dyno numbers for 03 SO
Jess:
On the defueling issue, the 2003 to 2005 Dodge CTD CR trucks seem to do the
same thing that the Second Generation 24 valve trucks like mine do. Specifically,
under WOT acceleration with higher boost numbers (and this seems to vary by
truck) the engine PCM/ECM defuels the engine during the 1-2 shift and you will
feel the truck "nose over",.......slow down some and then take off again when
the boost drops back down. The BD R.A.D. Device stops this action. However,
when Tom ran on the dyno last night his truck was defueling on the high end
(at about 3000 RPM). It is my understanding that this is a function of the
torque management system and I don't think the BD R.A.D Device will prevent
this at high speeds. However, I believe that Tom's TST PM 3 CR can be
"reprogrammed" as my older TST PM 3 was to increase the RPM at where
the "defueling" occurs.
Hope this helps some...................

There are a three issues with the defuel.
1) The one in and around 2200 rpm
2) The one that gives no fuel without a MAP signal ( this makes it hard to build boost on the starting line when racing)
3) The defuel for governed top speed
We licked the first two. I think BD power has the module for a top speed defuel as well, but I thought it only worked on the 03 and 04 trucks, but not the 04.5.
The BD power module might have the defuel number 2 fixed as well, but I dont know for certain.

Well I dont want to let the cat out of the bag. We have it licked though.
King, the trucks seems to do it all gears. I have not tested any 05's yet though.

(I hate the defueling, but I can't figure out if the TST causes it, OR just makes it more pronounced)
hm,hm,hm (waiting patiently for a PM/email/call from DON to take my money)
