Dual stacks to single

well w/ winter coming i decided to ditch the chome stacks and go w/ an easier to maintain single black stack...... i was just tired of constantly cleaning off the salt and dirt. i must say that i'm a little disappointed w/ the sound because the single 6" is significantly quieter than the dual 7"s. i wanted a single 7" but had a 6" laying around that i decided to paint it.

before

after

i'm not quite used to the look yet, but it is starting to grow on me

thanks for the complements guys, the more i see it the more i like it. i think i need something bigger than a 6" on it though. I'm also thinking that the smoke blowing through a single 6" will be more impressive than blowing it through dual 7"s. i haven't been able to test that theory yet though because i just recently sent the smarty in for the PoD upgrade

not at the moment, i may go back the the dual setup in the spring. However if i decide to keep the single i'm gonna take one of the 7"s and paint it black.

Well I am not quited sure yet. At the DHRA last weekend I just picked a moderate Smarty/TST (Smarty TNT SW4/TST 2/0) stack and ran with that all day. When it spooled on the line easy it ran 12.9s. Of course I wasn't paying any attention to the RP guage. The 12.9 ETs did not have any popping, EGTs stayed under 1600* and runs were pretty smooth all the way through so I don't think I drained the rail on those runs.

I have since changed the TNT to SW5 with different options and turned the TST off, and seem to spool quicker, but without the TST doing anything I only get 45psi of boost out of the Smarty.

I will load SW7 with the current options and see what it feels like and see how my RP holds up. I suspect that is probably as high as I can go with the TNT SWs. But we'll see.
