Dual Stabalizer- truth or lie?

i took my truck into a shop today (Off Road Enterprises, Montclair, Ca) to have my 6in superlift kit, superlift dual stabalizer, and 37 toyo m/t's put on. Besides the fact that the guy showed up to open the shop an hour late, he had from 9:30 in the morning to 6 at night to do everything. He told me that it should be done and ready to pick up before they close. Called at 1:30 and they said they were on schedule and should be ready to pick up today. then i called at 5:15 and the guy went to go check on it, came back and said "uuuh ya we ran into some diffuculties. we didn't know that we were going to have to do some welding to put the dual stabalizer on and we still havent mounted the tires to the stock rims." in other words he was telling me that it wasn't going to be done today. What welding would need to be done and how long does it really take to put that stuff on especially if you tell you customer that it will be ready same day. not only did he say that but he also charged me $80 more than what i was quoted for on monday when i called to schedule what time this morning i was comming in.

in unhappy to say the least

the only fab work you have to do is to take a cut off wheel and cut the tabs off the axle that the stock stabilizer bolts to. drill 4 holes total, bolt together. took about an hour for the entire job.

thanks guys

and feel free to keep responding so i can tell him that i know the stabalizer needs no welding

know the feeling about shops taking longer than what they say to compleat work. they told me 3 or 4 days, ive been out of a truck for almost 3 weeks now so they could repair some paint work that they messed up on in the first place! at least there paying for the rental car.

good luck, i would show up in the morning and have them show you exactly what needs to be done and why!

over all i bet it will be worth the wait when you get it back. bet it will look good. be sure and post some pics.

Off Road Enterprises? Are they still on Holt Blvd.? I can't believe that shop is still there. I bought a bumper and lights from them about umpteen years ago for my '89 4Runner. There was a Dick Cepek about a mile down Holt from them at one time. Back in the day they were the only off road shops in the area.

Does the kit use some kind of sleeve of something to lengthen the sway bar end links? Other than that there should be no welding required.
