Dr. Performance box

Dr. Performance predator module I was looking at for my dads 2004 Dodge ram 305-555 diesel truck stage 2 that is like 90 hp and 190 ft/lbs he is looking for better mpg and a little help in power on the hills , he tows a 32 fifth wheel that weights about 12000 pounds. Can I get some feedback from members that have used this module, or from others with different suggestion that might work.
thanks

As I recall the Dr. P modules make power through raising rail pressure and that pressure is higher than most others which is not the best way to make power. Probably the VA C3.1 or an Edge EZ would both be better choices. There are others that make a lot more power but for his use and the towing, ease of operation and cooler egts, then I'd put my dad in one of those.

I would take a look at the Quad towing box,it gives a boost in power with a small increase in mpg.

Don,t overlook the Bully dog power pup.I ran the quad race box for about 6-8 months.I liked the power of the quad box but it kept throwing the same 2 codes P0192 and P0237 on my truck.I switched to the BD power pup with the outlook monitor, very happy so far.coobie

Agreed, Make sure whatever you do, add gauges or a box that has them.

i wouldnt get the Dr Performance. The EGT's go very high very quickly. if hes pulling 12,000#, then the egts could get out of hand.

I also have looked at the Dr. p at the dealership, they will install it and like you said it will "still back warranty and take it off if I need warranty work somewhere else". They told me I don't have to run a EGT gauge, everything sounds good but they want $150 more then I can get it for on the internet. And if we add $200 to it we could get the TST PowerMaxCR .
I don't know what to do, but I like the fact I would still have a warranty, I would just like to hear from more people, who runs the DR. P box. thanks for all the feedback.
xyzer I see that you are from Oregon, me too, where at?

Even though the dealer says he will back it ,its not up to them ,if there is a issue with the engine and something goes bad \ breaks CUMMINS has the last say .. trust me they know if you had a box on it .. it will set a code and it will be stored in the engine ecm ....So be careful on what a dealer says ...also if a cummins rep happens to be in that shop at the time yours is getting upfitted with a box and they see ..they wont tell you but they will call Dodge and give them your VIN number and void your warrenty.. just htought I would let you know ... with ANY box you need an EGT gauge, ESPECIALLY with a Dr Performance box because the EGT's can get out of hand QUICK.

My dealer backs the warranty on everything but the transmission. He sold me the box and told me that if i program my truck, my transmission warranty is out the door.
