Double DIN in 05??

I have been thinking about putting a touch screen double DIN DVD/iPod ready head unit in my 2005. I have a single DIN in now, with pics in the gallery. I was wondering if anyone with an 05 had done this, and how much cutting and "butchering" of the dash was required? Any info would be great!

This is the unit I am thinking about http://www.crutchfield.com/S-tHU4hkf...50&I=020MAX675

On a side note....I get the truck back today from the lift install!!

I was going to do the same thing but never got around to it. I've got a piece of black ABS plastic that I was going to cut to go over the whole dash opening around the radio from the top where the bend is all the way to the A/C controls. Other people have done it by filling in the OEM hole and smoothing the whole thing with body filler and having it painted or covered in vinyl. Here's a pic of one that was done with fiberglass and some paint.

I was looking to do something along those lines, I know I will have to cut into the stock dash, but I am wanting to keep it as close to stock as I can. I would love to see more pics if anyone has done this on the 03-05 model dash. Thanks for the info, and keep 'em coming!

I may have misread your post but the above picture is of a '03-'05 dash. (not '06) I've got an extra dash panel I may experiment with. There is plenty of room behind the panel for a double din (just make sure you don't cut your ductwork.)
