Arrow should point towards the engine according to my muffler man!! I've had no problems and am pleased with my setup.

I ran mine pointing with the flow...but I think it is wrong. Like it this way though!

I may flip it around some day and see if it makes a difference in sound, egt, etc.

On mine, the arrow had the word "Inlet" stamped in it, indicating that end towards the engine.

I just called Donaldson. The tech rep said that on all of their mufflers that are designed for a specific direction of flow (not all have a specific flow direction), the muffler will have an arrow stamped on it. The arrow always points to the location of the inlet. Sounds backwards, but there you have it.

Well shoot...looks like I need to turn mine around!

AK...I tried to contact Donaldson before to see what the difference may be if the muff is backwards and had no luck. Since you have had luck contacting them, could you either ask for me or give me your contact so I could call?

Thanks!

I just call their standard 1-800 number and follow the instructions in the recording for a technical inside sales rep: 1-800-374-1374 . Nothing fancy, no special contacts.
