i think defuel at 1350 is way to low when I was running just a quad race box I could hit 1600 plus at wot and my pistons and cylinder walls look perfect

yeah thats what im starting to think. because what is aluminum in there? Just the turbo because in engine the crown is steel isnt it? or do we have 1 piece pistons? If it is 2 piece the skirts will be aluminum but the crown is deifferent metal. Some say 3rd gens can take more heat than 2nd gens and i dont know how or why? whats the difference other than injection method?

The 3rd Gens have more cooling ports in the block. I have my outlook defuel at 1600 and has been that way for 80,000 miles and no trouble yet. I tow almost everyday from 20 to 100 miles and see the 1600 ten times a day. Especially when I'm not towing and turn it up, I've seen 1700 on the outlook before but I'm not sure how accurate it is. When on stock before I've seen 13-1400.

The engine sounded like it developed somewhat of a miss at higher rpm.

the pistons are aluminum and they also have cooling jets under them to help cool them with oil.

That didn't sound good. If you have it set to alarm at 1350... it's obviously defueling there. You have other issue though with your EGT climbing that fast

Do you have anything else done to your truck besides what in your sig ?

not that i know of. of course it defueled at 1350 thats what alarm was set at. alarm and defuel point are 2 seperate things. now i set my alarm at 1350 F but i set it to defuel at 1200 so that it doesnt get to 1350 but it still will. it still gets there stock.

The edge will only defuel the amount of extra fuel that it adds over stock, it does not defuel below stock levels. My 06 in stock format is EXTREMELY hard pressed to reach 1300* at wot. With the Quad ZXT I had it would see 1400-1500* max, but it has been out for a few months. I am sending back to Quad to take advantage of the update program.

Your opened up exaust could be missleading on the video you posted, but it still sounds like you have a slight missing going on there. It could be one cyl overfueling creating that skip sound and causing your high egt's.

for the record i used a DRB scanner and did a cylinder cut out test and they all passed. they all sounded good. all made a big difference when u cut them out. and they all had efficiency ratings from 95% to 100% according to the drb. only thing is that the cut out test is performed at low idle. maybe at high idle or high load high idle the injector acts up?

Yes sir, big difference between 5000psi and 22,000 psi. Will the DRB capture wot full load test data?
